Established in 2012, JSW Sports aims to play a leading role in ushering a culture for sports in India by maximising the sporting potential of Indian sports and athletes. The group owns JSW Bengaluru FC, India’s most successful football club in the last decade, and Haryana Steelers in the Pro Kabaddi League
a fifty-percent stake in the Delhi franchise-which has since been rebranded as the
Delhi Capitals. JSW Sports also supports the training of approximately forty Indian
Olympic talents and has spearheaded the creation of the Inspire Institute of Sport.
The Inspire Institute of Sport is India’s first privately funded, high-performance training centre.
The Inspire Institute of Sport (IIS) is a JSW Group initiative
that trains talented young athletes across five Olympic
disciplines of wrestling, boxing, judo, athletics, and swimming.
Spread over 42 acres in Vijayanagar, Karnataka, IIS brings
together over 25 corporate donors collectively funding
the operations of the institute through CSR funding.
Led by an Advisory Board of senior Indian sporting legends
and global high-performance experts, IIS offers about 300
talented young athletes full scholarships in a completely
residential, world-class training environment at full capacity.
